our approach

The Premier Team sets the standard for the club, both on and off the pitch. It provides a clear pathway for players progressing through the ranks and showcases the strength of football within the Mosgiel community.

Home games at Memorial Park are a key part of the club atmosphere, with players, supporters, and families coming together to back the team.

Chatham Cup

The team also competes in the Chatham Cup, New Zealand’s oldest and most prestigious annual men’s knockout competition, running since 1923 and open to clubs at all levels across the country.

Mosgiel AFC has a proud history in the competition, reaching the final twice, in 1938 and 1940. While the club did not secure the title on either occasion (losing to Waterside 0–6 in 1938 and 2–6 in 1940), those runs remain a significant part of the club’s story. In more recent years, the club has reached the last 16 in 1985, 2005, and 2015.
