Our Club

Founded in 1913, Mosgiel AFC is one of New Zealand’s proud football clubs, with a long history of representing the Taieri community both on and off the field. Based at Memorial Park in Mosgiel, we are known as The Plainsmen, a name that reflects our roots on the Taieri Plains and the strong local identity that continues to shape the club today.

For more than a century, Mosgiel AFC has provided opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game. From junior football through to senior men’s and women’s teams, our club is built on participation, development, and a genuine love of football. Whether you are taking your first steps into the sport or competing at a high level, there is a place for you here.

Our history includes proud moments on the national stage, reaching the Chatham Cup final in 1938 and 1940, along with several strong cup runs in later years. Today, our premier side competes in the Southern Premier League, continuing the club’s tradition of competitive football.

Memorial Park remains the heart of the club. On match days, supporters gather in the covered grandstand to enjoy a great view of the action and the atmosphere that makes Mosgiel AFC special. It is a club built on community spirit, where players, families, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters all play an important role.

We are proud of where we have come from and excited about where we are heading. If you are looking to play, coach, volunteer, sponsor or simply support your local club, we would love to welcome you to Mosgiel AFC.
