Junior & Youth
Mosgiel AFC is proud to offer football opportunities for players of all ages, from those having their very first kick of a ball through to teenagers developing their game in the youth grades. Our focus is simple, creating a fun, supportive, and positive environment where players can learn, improve, and enjoy being part of a team.
First Kicks | Ages 4–6
First Kicks is the perfect introduction to football for our youngest players. Designed for children aged 4 to 6, these sessions are all about getting active, kicking a ball around, learning basic skills, and having fun with friends. Held at Memorial Park on Saturday mornings during the football season, First Kicks is a relaxed and enjoyable way for kids to build confidence and discover a love for the game.
Juniors | Ages 6–12
Our junior grades give players the chance to keep developing their skills while enjoying regular football with their teammates. Players aged 6 to 12 take part in weekly games and club activities that encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and enjoyment.
Whether your child is new to football or already loves the game, we aim to provide the right environment for them to grow and have fun.
Youth | Ages 13–18
Our youth grades are for players aged 13 to 18 who are ready for the next stage of football. These years are an important bridge between junior football and senior competition, with a greater focus on development, teamwork, and game understanding. Mosgiel AFC provides a strong pathway for youth players to continue improving, stay connected to the club, and progress into senior football when ready.
TourNament opportunities
For players wanting to challenge themselves and experience football at a higher level, Mosgiel AFC offers tournament team opportunities across a range of junior and youth grades throughout the year. These teams sit outside the regular Saturday competition and provide players with the chance to compete in annual and special tournaments.
Depending on the age group and level of interest, teams may be formed through open trials or selected from expressions of interest. Where demand is high, trials are held and all eligible players in that grade are welcome to attend.
Tournaments range from one-day events through to multi-day competitions and are held throughout the South Island. Tournament football is a great way for players to further develop their skills, enjoy new experiences, and represent the club in a competitive environment.
